Not too happy right now

I woke up so excited about picking out my options.  Somehow all that excitement has been replaced with frustration. The distressed floor that I want is "engineered" wood and can only be put in a house that is built on a slab. They offer no distressed uptowns in either hardwoods or laminate hardwoods for a crawl space. I can't settle on this. I know what I want and just hope that I dont have to get vinyl for now and pay someone to put hardwoods down. I might get a better deal that way but I wanted to keep this as simple as possible.

  1. I am not happy right now either. *hugs you and hands you a virtual glass of wine*

I'm sorry about this. I hope you can find something you like (even it's not what your really love) until which time you can put something else in later. OR... that you find something else you love. This stinks. I'm sorry.

*cheers* To this bad day being almost over with!

  2. That sucks. I received somewhat bad news from my PM today regarding my morning room windows. I was a little disappointing, but then realized that once my house is completed. I will love it and will not even remember worrying about larger windows in my morning room. Due to wind restrictions and code they had to change the windows plan.

  3. Sorry to hear that Chelly! But you're right. You'll LOVE your new place, regardless! *hands glass of wine to Chelly too*

  4. Don't settle...either go the vinyl route and do it later OR talk to the flooring guy and see if he has what you want...remember, what he shows you is what is available for Ryan Homes customers to select from...he has wayyy more then that...see if he has what you want, then work out a deal with Ryan Homes as a custom change...they CAN do it...don't let them tell you otherwise...unless the flooring guy tells you that you shouldn't install that type of floor over a crawl space...but make him explain why and then come back and share that knowledge with your eFamily...as Noey would say...GL

  5. Thanks guys. I went to sleep right after posting this so I am just seeing your responses. Chelly and Noey I am forecasting much better news for us today :) @ BD you are so right. The flooring company says that Ryan doesn't offer it on a crawlspace but it is possible. I am going to see what we can work out but I know it can be done.

  7. I will make sure I post tonight. I actually had a second appointment and still made a change to what I decided. I am overly analytical which causes me to be very indecisive. But. I feel good abt my choices now. My advice is to build the home you want...I got caught up in trying to pick things that are good for resale. Don't get me wrong it is good to keep that in mind, but I wasn't choosing things that suited my taste.
